St.
Patrick’s Parade Notice-2009
The Parade date has not been set by the Parade committee
thus far we believe that it will be around Sunday,
March 15th. Each year when we attend the
parade it seems to be getting larger and larger. If you
have never participated why don’t you come out and join
us this year we would love to have you. Our group always
gather at the Hotel Statler location and than proceed to
March in Division 1 which starts the parade. More
information will be inserted on our Web-Site when it
becomes available to us.

HAVE YOU
EVER BEEN ASKED THIS QUESTION ABOUT THE HOLY NAME
WHO ARE
THESE MEN OF THE HOLY NAME SOCIETY IN OUR PARISHES
The Holy Name Society
promotes the honor and glory of our divine God and the
personal sanctification of the members by acts of Love and
Devotion to the Most Holy Name of Jesus. The spirited life
of its members is a perpetual act of reverence and love.
The Holy Name Society
believes in the faith of the Catholic Church and the
Magisterium. Loyalty to one’s country and respect for
all lawful authority, both civil and religious.
Our members perform the Corporal
Works of Mercy; to feed the hungry, clothe the naked,
give drink to the thirsty, shelter to the homeless, tend
to the sick, visit those in prison and bury the dead. As
well as the Spiritual Works of Mercy to covert
sinners, instruct the ignorant, counsel the wayward,
comfort the sorrowing, bear adversity patiently, forgive
offenses and pray for the living and the dead on a
parochial, Diocesan and National level.
The Objectives
The
Holy Name Society is an established Confraternity of the
Church. A Confraternity is a voluntary association of the
faithful, established and guided by competent
ecclesiastical authorities, for the promotion of the
special works of Christian charity of piety. The
observance of the rules of Confraternity is not binding in
conscience, nor does their neglect deprive a person of
membership. From Blessed John of Vercelli and the zealous
impetus with which he fostered the Holy Name devotion came
finally the Confraternity of the Holy Name Society.
Principal
Objectives of the Holy Name Society
Include
the following:
-
To
honor the Name of God and of Jesus Christ by example
of a strictly Catholic Life.
-
To
spread devotion and increase love for the Sacred Name
of Jesus
-
To
suppress devotion and profane and indecent language.
-
To
prevent false oaths, in and out of court.
-
To
impart courage to Catholic men in the profession of
their faith.
The Vocation of Every Man
